Advent On-The-Go - What to Expect!
Last year I was on location completing pre-production on our movie, Identity Crisis (coming soon) between Thanksgiving and Christmas. My absence changed some of our family traditions. I was simply not present to spend time anticipating. This year, I am home but due to some unexpected life changes I am heading into a BIG month of work. So as much as I am home - it will require discipline for me to be present.
I have hope that with a little bit of effort, I will spend some time preparing for Christmas this year. That is what the tradition of advent is all about. The Church calendar pauses for the four weeks before December 25 - to concentrate on preparing for the comping celebration of Jesus’ birth. There are four main tenants of advent: Hope, Peace, Joy and Love…in any order.
So this year I am going to try something new. I am going to share a daily devotion through Facebook Live. I am not going to pick a time. I’m not going to promise that I am camera ready (with hair and makeup complete). Instead I am going to make a promise to myself to read a devotion, when I can and share it with anyone who would like to listen. If you would like to follow along - I will read from My Wish For Christmas, The Luke Project for teens. Each devotion provides space to journal. If I am able to journal - I will share a highlight from my thoughts. I will share the pictures. The beautiful original art was painted by my sister-in-law, Jennifer Polnaszek. The pictures are simply beautiful.
You can order a color copy on my website. Or you can find the devotional at Amazon.
