Six Things that God Loves

A few weeks ago I came across a piece of scripture from Proverbs that made me pause: “There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to him:
haughty eyes,
a lying tongue,
hands that shed innocent blood,
a heart that devises wicked schemes,
feet that are quick to rush into evil,
a false witness who pours out lies and a person who stirs up conflict in the community.” Proverbs 6:16-19

The title: 6 Things that God Hates has been sitting on my desktop. Every time I read it I wonder, what is the inverse. Proverbs encourages its readers to value wisdom. So, I found it remarkable to find a list of things that God hates nestled in the first six chapters. It is my desire to not only know what to flee from, but also to learn what to run towards or lean into. So, in my desire to reframe from the negative, I find it encouraging to meditate on the six things +1 that God loves. So here is my revised list - 7 things that God Loves for His people to manifest.

*Humility that can be seen through your eyes.

*Direct speech that leads to truth telling.

*Creatively that fosters a life that flourishes.

*Living in a state of innocence - believing the best not the worst.

*Living in an eagerness to seek to do the right thing.

*Integrity in your conversation, marked by candor, reliability, and sincerity.

*One who brings harmony to those around them!

I am encouraged to walk into the week in: humility, truth, life, innocence, eagerness, integrity and seeking to bring harmony to wherever I go.
